Meet Dr. Amato!

Dr. Francis Amato is a unique kind of dentist. With his fun personality, he gets people excited about their dental care, and then teaches them to develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime.

Dr. Amato served his country in the United States Navy as an engineer on a nuclear submarine for six years, joining the Navy immediately after high school.  After the Navy, Dr. Amato continued his engineering career in the nuclear engineering industry until 1998, when he discovered his real passion was to become a dentist to help people design healthy, beautiful smiles and he never looked back.

Dr. Amato went back to school in 1998 and later obtained a bachelor's degree from Delta State University.  He then went on to the prestigious University of Mississippi School of Dentistry, where he earned his doctorate, graduating in 2004, after earning numerous awards.  Dr. Amato stays abreast of the latest technology and dental care with memberships in the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the North Carolina Dental Society.

Married for over twenty-four years to his high-school sweetheart, Dr. Amato and his beautiful wife, Gena, are blessed to have three gorgeous and precious children, Madelaine, Lillian and Abigail, whom you may often see visiting the office. Outside of dentistry, Dr. & Mrs. Amato focus on raising their young family and being involved in their community--they are truly proud to make their home in Ashe County.

Dr. Amato has a wide range of interests outside of the practice, and enjoys spending time with Gena and their children, hiking, canoeing, swimming, skiing, time spent at the beach and traveling to fun and unique locations with the entire family, as well as scuba diving and target shooting.  Dr. Amato and Gena are focused on the children's school and extracurricular activities and the entire family are active members of their church.
